En Forêt avec Vincent Munier at Musée des Confluences

Stunning photographs by Vincent Munier, internationally known for his immersive César-winning documentary ‘The Velvet Queen’, are on view at the Musée des Confluences in Lyon until 27 April. “En Forêt avec Vincent Munier” is a plunge into the heart of the forests of eastern France to bring to the forefront the animals (deer, badgers, foxes) who make their homes close to us.
To Euronews, Munier said “…In a way, we have put them aside. That’s what affects me and saddens me the most. It’s the extent to which we’ve ‘gone it alone’, it’s ‘man is man’ and the animals are a bit of a spectacle or an accessory, but not on the same level. It’s a vertical hierarchy that annoys me enormously, this hegemonic position of our species over the others.”
